These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the nproxy.app service ("Service") operated by nproxy ("we", "us", or "our"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

Service Description

nproxy is a package registry proxy that intercepts package installations and applies security rules to detect and block malicious packages. The Service analyzes package metadata in real time and can block or warn about packages that fail security checks.

The Service is provided as a proxy layer between your development environment and upstream package registries. We do not host or redistribute packages except for internal/private packages published through your organization's nproxy endpoint.

Account Registration

To use the Service, you must create an account and provide accurate information. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials, API tokens, and client certificates. You must notify us immediately if you become aware of any unauthorized use of your account.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service to distribute malware or malicious packages
  • Attempt to bypass or circumvent the Service's security rules
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the Service's security analysis logic
  • Use the Service in a way that exceeds the rate limits or request quotas of your plan
  • Share your nproxy endpoint, API tokens, or client certificates with unauthorized parties
  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws

Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability of the Service but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. In the event of a Service outage, package installations will fall back to the upstream registry if your package manager is configured to do so.

Security Rules and Blocking

The Service applies automated security rules to package metadata. While we strive for accuracy, we do not guarantee that all malicious packages will be detected or that no legitimate packages will be incorrectly flagged. You acknowledge that:

  • Security rules may block packages that are not actually malicious (false positives)
  • Some malicious packages may not be detected by our rules (false negatives)
  • The Service is one layer of defense and should not be your sole security measure

Plans and Payment

The Service offers Free, Pro, and Enterprise plans. Plan features and pricing are described on our website and may change with notice. Paid plans are billed monthly via Stripe. You may cancel your subscription at any time, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

Intellectual Property

The Service, including its security rules, analysis logic, and user interface, is owned by nproxy and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Your use of the Service does not grant you any ownership rights in the Service.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, nproxy shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

  • Damages resulting from malicious packages that were not detected by the Service
  • Damages resulting from legitimate packages that were incorrectly blocked
  • Loss of profits, data, or business opportunities arising from use of the Service
  • Damages resulting from Service downtime or unavailability

Our total liability for any claims arising from your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the twelve months preceding the claim.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless nproxy from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if:

  • You violate these Terms
  • Your use of the Service poses a security risk
  • We are required to do so by law or a government authority
  • We discontinue the Service (with reasonable notice)

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us or through the dashboard settings. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately, though we may retain certain data as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.

Modifications to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
